Happy 2017 everybody!
With so much bad happening around the world, remember that the only way to make 2017 awesome is to be awesome. Don't be an observer - act.
If you want there to be discussion - start it.
If you want there to be art - patronize and support it. Or, well, make it.
If you want less stupidity - get your news from the right places, not Facebook, and verify it regardless.
If you want progress, remember that science is fact, observation and logical reasoning, and religion is what Harry Potter will become in 20 years. As much as we wish that magic was real, making decisions based on the basis of obviously fictional works does not bode well for humanity, and you need balanced education and common sense, not religious fervour, to separate right from wrong.
Things aren't going to happen on their own, and if you wake up and look around, the people who say "live and let live" aren't exactly on the up and up. Let's try to start doing something about it so that at the end of this year, we aren't complaining about how terrible the year that went by was! (And also so orange faced aliens don't take control of what is supposed to be the most powerful country in the world.)
Every battle begins in your mind, that realization is as far as I've gotten - and, much like the humble and unassuming Po (yes, it's a Kung Fu Panda reference), one must find inner peace before one expects world peace.
